Pizza Run 2020 — Burnzbrigade x 3065dirtbags

Pizza Run…..Originally trial’d in Geelong by our very own Daniel Warfe we now see the Melbourne city edition run by 3065 Dirtbags and Burnzbrigade. The aim of the game is to collect pizza menu’s from various restaurants around the northside area and deliver them back to base. The riders then must create a makeshift pizza from those menu’s and deliver it back to the Museum.

With over 30 riders, they set out scattering in all directions via the online manifest, racing to collect the menu’s! I had the pleasure of chasing down some of the newest members of community Michael and Marcus down Lygon street and beyond.

Its great to see creative events being put together this year, with more people involved and more positive vibes than ever. At this rate 2020 is set to be one of the biggest years for fixed-gear culture here in Melbourne.

“I got into fixed gear because it was a great way to hang out with my mates”

Chasing michael through brunswick…

Despite the pizza’s made from the racer’s only being made of paper…. Huw Morgan came through with the goods and delivered a dozen actual pizza’s to everyone’s delight. With that out of the way it was time to reveal the winner, who would receive a custom painted Specialized Langster Pro delicately splattered by Rob Gaines and proudly donated to the cause by Nick Benca.

Sunday Roll — DCC x FTW Ride

With the chaos and determent of the fires blazing in Australia we felt we had it good, living in the city we are often blindsided by the lack of impact we see from such disasters in our own world. So we decided to do our part and pitch in, as well as raising awareness for the people that have it harder than we do.

Everyone was banding together, donating money and trying to do there part to take the edge off the difficult times we are facing. So we decided to promote a ride, to bring us all together and with Destroy cycling club’s founder Dexter coming to town we decided on the Sunday roll.

With good energy in the air and with people opening there wallets to donate and support the cause we headed off on a short but iconic City loop including some of Melbourne’s secret urban hotspots.

Bike Check — Robert Gaines' MASH Steel Build

Our boy Robert Gaines, better known as @EIGHTYXPROOF made the long journey from Australia to San Francisco to film this with Matt Reyes. With an alleyway in Chinatown as the backdrop, they got together and shot this quick rundown of Rob’s new MASH Steel Build. He walked us through his setup and gave some pointers for those looking to build a bike that can do "just about everything for you".

We’d like to send a massive shoutout to Matt, go peep his socials for more dope content!
